Audubon for Kids!
In many ways every child is born a scientist—exploring their world, leading small experiments, asking questions, searching for answers. That innate curiosity and drive to inquiry is what Rachel Carson, the groundbreaking conservationist and author, called a sense of wonder. “A child’s world is fresh and new and beautiful, full of wonder and excitement.”
Educational Grant Opportunities
The SAS Scholarship Fund assists a few applicants with tuition, conference fees, or other related expenses that are incurred in the pursuit of conservation-related educational activities. These funds can be used by a person of any age to aid with tuition for Audubon camps, local nature camps, naturalist programs, conferences, or other conservation-related endeavors.
Eco Camps during Summer, Spring and Winter breaks are available for children ages 7 to 12 through the Seminole County Natural Lands Program. For details and dates, visit: Seminole County Natural Lands Eco Camps.
Camps fill quickly so please apply as early as possible. To start, call or email the Ed Yarborough Nature Center to check availability and inquire about the scholarship:
